The first confirmed cases of COVID-19 caused by the Omicron variant have been detected in America. Along with the Delta variant, Omicron is a Variant of Concern for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Both variants were first detected abroad and feared to complicate the management of the pandemic.
